Periodontics:
It means the branch of dentistry dealing with health & disease of tissues investing and supporting the teeth. Periodontal diseases are infectious diseases caused by bacteria, present in mouth. The most important causative factor is Dental Plaque, which is soft deposit present on teeth, due to lack of proper cleaning of teeth. Periodontal disease is a chronic problem. Without ongoing treatment the infection and disease will reoccur, and each time it does, more bone can be lost, until eventually the teeth become loose and need to be removed. The consequence of these infections ranges from simple bleeding gums to early loss of teeth.

Prosthodontics:
Prosthodontics is that branch of dentistry which deals with the restoration and maintenance of oral function, comfort, appearance, and health of the patient by the restoration of the missing natural teeth. It also deals with the replacement of missing teeth. Prosthodontists have the advanced knowledge necessary to help provide treatment for birth defects such as cleft palate, conditions such as traumatic injury, and complex restorations for patients who have undergone surgical or radiation treatment for cancer.

Oral Sedation Dentistry:

Sedation is the reduction of irritability or agitation by administration of sedative drugs, generally to facilitate a medical procedure or diagnostic procedure. Oral sedation dentistry is a medical procedure involving the administration of oral sedative drugs, generally to facilitate a dental procedure and reduce patients fear and anxiety related to the experience.

Endodontics:

Endodontics is one of the dental specialties recognized by the American Dental Association, Royal College of Dentists of Canada, and Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons, and deals with the tooth pulp and the tissues surrounding the root of a tooth. Endodontists perform a variety of procedures including root canal therapy, endodontic retreatment, surgery, treating cracked teeth, and treating dental trauma. Root canal therapy is one of the most common procedures. If the pulp (containing nerves, arterioles, venules, lymphatic tissue, and fibrous tissue) becomes diseased or injured, endodontic treatment is required to save the tooth.

Bruxism Treatment:
Bruxism is a common sleep disorder which is also known as night time teeth grinding or clenching and is known to affect millions of people. In some cases, bruxism is mild enough not to be a problem, but in severe cases, bruxism can lead to permanent tooth damage in a short amount of time. One of the more common treatments available is mouth guards and splints. It is worn during a long term basis during sleep every night.

Snoring:

Snoring is the vibration of respiratory structures and the resulting sound, due to obstructed air movement during breathing while sleeping. In some cases the sound may be soft, but in other cases, it can be loud and unpleasant. Snoring during sleep may be a sign, or first alarm, of obstructive sleep apnea (OSA).

The irregular airflow is caused by a passageway blockage and usually due to one of the following:
  • Throat weakness, causing the throat to close during sleep
  • Mispositioned jaw, often caused by tension in the muscles
  • Fat gathering in and around the throat
  • Enlarged tonsil
